ISMS Calculator is a SaaS product operated by ISMS Calculator (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "the Company"). For inquiries, contact us at support@ismscalculator.com.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ISMS Calculator, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the service.

3. Description of Service

ISMS Calculator provides a cost and effort estimation tool for organizations planning to implement ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System). The service includes:

A real-time calculator for estimating implementation costs, effort, and timelines.
Security maturity assessments across ISO 27001 domains.
Industry benchmark comparisons.
ISO 27001 guidance documentation.
A Consultant Marketplace directory where you can request introductions to independent, third-party ISO 27001 consultants.
The ability to save and compare estimates (requires an account).

4. Account Registration

To access the calculator and save estimates, you must create an account using either an email/password or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Estimation Disclaimer

Important Notice:

The estimates, figures, benchmarks, and recommendations provided by ISMS Calculator are generated using algorithmic calculations based on industry averages, external resources, and AI-assisted analysis. They are intended as indicative ballpark figures only and should not be treated as definitive quotes, guarantees, or professional advice.

Actual implementation costs, timelines, and effort may vary significantly depending on your organization’s specific circumstances, regulatory environment, existing controls, team capabilities, and many other factors that cannot be fully captured by an automated tool.

ISMS Calculator cannot be held liable or accountable for any decisions made, financial commitments entered into, or outcomes resulting from the use of the generated estimates or recommendations. We strongly recommend engaging qualified ISO 27001 consultants and auditors for professional advice before making implementation decisions.

6. AI and External Resources

ISMS Calculator uses algorithmic models and data derived from external resources, industry research, and AI-assisted analysis to generate its estimations and benchmarks. While we strive for accuracy and relevance, this data:

May not reflect the most current market conditions or pricing.
Is based on aggregated industry averages that may not apply to your specific situation.
Should be independently verified before being used for budgeting or decision-making purposes.
Does not constitute professional consulting, legal, or financial advice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, algorithms, and code comprising the ISMS Calculator service are the intellectual property of ISMS Calculator. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service without prior written consent.

8. User Data Ownership

You retain ownership of the data you enter into the calculator and any saved estimates. We do not claim ownership over your input data or estimation results. Your data is isolated and not shared with other users. Where you choose to submit a Consultant Marketplace introduction request, the details you provide are shared with the consultant you selected, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Consultant Marketplace

ISMS Calculator offers a Consultant Marketplace that lists independent, third-party ISO 27001 consultants and lets you request an introduction to them. By using this feature you acknowledge that:

Listed consultants are independent third parties. They are not our employees, agents, or partners, and we do not control their work.
We provide the directory for convenience only. We do not vet, certify, endorse, recommend, or guarantee any consultant, their qualifications, availability, pricing, or the quality or outcome of their services.
Any engagement, contract, fee arrangement, or advice is solely between you and the consultant. We are not a party to that relationship and accept no liability for it. You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence before engaging any consultant.
Some listings may be marked "Sample" — these are illustrative placeholder entries and do not represent real, available consultants.
When you submit an introduction request, you consent to your details being forwarded to the selected consultant, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

10. Consultant Obligations & Data Processing

Consultants who are listed in the marketplace and who receive introduction requests agree, as a condition of being listed, to:

Act as independent data controllers and process the personal data they receive in compliance with the GDPR and applicable law.
Use the information only to respond to the introduction request and not for unsolicited marketing.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards, and respect data-subject rights including erasure on request.
Enter into a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) with us where they process personal data on our behalf, in accordance with Article 28 GDPR.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Belgian and EU law:

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
ISMS Calculator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any estimates or data generated by the tool.
We are not liable for any engagement between you and a marketplace consultant, or for the acts or omissions of any consultant.
Our total liability in any case shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at our discretion if you violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, your right to access saved estimates will cease.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium. Any disputes arising from the use of this service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hasselt, Belgium.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the service. Your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
